While perhaps not a model for healthy living, Homer Simpson might make a good – at least amusing – avatar for your GPS system. And so Dan Castellaneta has been hired to this effect by TomTom NV. Imagine taking directions from the man that once said, “Operator! Give me the number for 911!” The system offers a number of voices, including celebrity voices, each about $12.95, including: John Cleese, Burt Reynolds, Curt Shilling, Dennis Hopper and Mr. T.

A NYT blog posted on a new, unauthorized book about Keith Richards, “What Would Keith Richards Do?: Daily Affirmations from a Rock and Roll Survivor“
It turns out that Keith Richards, in addition to being perhaps the most durable and enduring person on the planet ( indeed I have long though he may be the only thing other than cockroaches and diet coke that would survive a nuclear holocaust) he is also one of the funniest.
